Zephyr Jazz Bands

Jazz at Mahtomedi High School is alive and thriving! Not only do we have the curricular auditioned jazz group, the Zephyr Jazz Ensemble, but we also have 2 mornings a week where any student 9-12 can come in and make jazz music. Flutes, oboes, guitars, drums, saxes, all instruments are welcome! This year, instead of being split by grade level, we have 2 groups with equal instrumentation with students from all 4 grades combined to make jazz music together. It has been great for the younger band members to sit by an upperclassman and grow as a jazz musician. And it's been great for the upperclassmen to pass on their knowledge to the younger band members!
