Mahtomedi Bands

The MHS band program continues the tradition of providing its members with quality musical and educational experiences that are fun, memorable and challenging, even in times of challenge and a global pandemic!

The MHS band program consists of 4 class ensembles, and 3 extracurricular ensembles. You can find more information about them below. 

Our Services

Wind Ensemble

The Zephyr Wind Ensemble is an auditioned group of band students that perform advanced repertoire. 

Jazz Ensemble

The Zephyr Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group of students that play traditional jazz instruments. 

Zephyr Wind Orchestra

The Zephyr Wind Orchestra is an ensemble made up of students from grades 10-12. 

Zephyr Concert Band

The Zephyr Concert Band is an ensemble where 9th graders spend their first year getting suited into the MHS band program. 

Zephyr Morning Jazz Groups

The morning jazz groups have split off into two cohorts this year, where they rehearse in the mornings before school.

Zephyr Percussion Ensemble

The percussion ensemble meets in the evenings once a week. The ensemble consists of students 9-12, bringing all grades together to perform great music.
